Chantal Kulenkov is an agent working with Interpol. She was in the United States, in Washington DC to be more precise, working with the FBI on a massive pedophile network implying scumbags around the globe when the first cases of Z-Cad infected individuals made the news.
Panic ensued while local officials tried to keep the population calm and saying it was localised incidents and that everyone was safe.
Chantal was called by the Embassade de France and she was warned to take the first flight out of the USA. She followed recommendations. It is at the airport of Chicago (to change flights) that Chantal first encountered a Z-Cad. The Z-Cad had suddenly appeared, an infected patient coming out of a plane most probably, and bit another person that quickly became infected... and the chain of attacks/infected went on.
Chantal fleed, trying to survive the hord of Z-Cad that attacked everyone fleeing aswell.
